Key Image – Smitty’s Jukebox Museum<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our key image, embedded below, is of Smitty’s Jukebox Museum in tiny Pharr in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. This image will be featured on the course website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This image is also used as our Header Image. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We obtained this image from the Library of Congress and it features both a Wurlitzer machine and rare 1942 “bubbler.” According to photographer Carol M. Highsmith, Dennis and Leo Schmidt of the Jukebox Museum “have been restoring, repairing, and displaying jukeboxes for many years.” Even though jukeboxes are uncommon today, at least in their original form, their unique and captivating design still holds a place of nostalgia for many.
