The “Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corporation” was founded initially in 1927 to operate slot machines, but became best known for its jukeboxes. The company was well-suited to produce jukeboxes because the coin-operation of a jukebox led to its usability and popularity.
During World War II, Rock-Ola held a contract with the U.S. Government and manufactured a variety of components used in firearms, but their production of jukeboxes dates back to 1932.
The following image is of the Rock-Ola “Hi-Fidelty 120 Wall Box” from 1953. The wall box style of jukebox was particularly useful, as listeners could operate the machine from their booths at restaurants.
